2.Listen and say:Present the new words and the short passage.
(1)Play the video of the passage.
(2)Introduce a house whose name is "Big house" and her best friend---shadow.
(3)Teach the first paragraph by showing the chant. Teach rise/rises.
The sun:In the morning,rise,rise,I rise in the morning.
The shadow:Long,long,I am long.
Big house:The sun rises.
The shadow is long.Haha,haha,I am tall.(Chant)
Students sing the chant and do actions after the teacher.
(The teacher should tell the students where we put the shadow on the blackboard;
The tempo of the chant should be quickly.)
(4)Teach the second paragraph ,high, noon by the same way.And students fill in the blanks by talking with their deskmates.
The sun:High,high.I am high at noon.
The shadow:Short,short,I am short.
Big house:The sun is high.The shadow is short.Oh!No! Oh!No,I am short!
(This time the tempo of the chant should be slowly.)
