Step1. An email from China
1. Introduce Li Lei and Li Jie to students.
2. Deal with the email from China.
(1) Show them the email with missing words.
(2) Play the recording twice and give them some hints if needed.
(3) Talk about Children’s Day in China and deal with the new words.
3. Introduce Li Lei and Li Jie’s friends in other countries.
(1) Look at their photos and try to guess where they come from.
(2) Learn the new words ‘Canada India Thailand’.
(3) Find their countries on the map.
Step2. Emails from other countries
1. The first reading
(1). Give students time to read the emails by themselves. Give them some guidance before reading. Help them if they need.
(2). Do the task 1: Match and say.
Deal with the key word: also. Use two examples to help students understand.
2. Extensive reading
(1) Give students time to read the emails one by one again. Lead them to find out some key information.
(2) Go over the emails and deal with the key information.
(3) Play a game to relax students’ emotions: Quick response.
3. Optional reading
(1) Choose one of the emails to read intensively.
(2) Do the task 2: Think and say. Invite a few students to talk about their thoughts.
