Part 3 Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warm-up
Let students guess the pictures and say the phrases: sing a song, play basketball, watch TV
Step 3 Lead-in
After the game, ask ss where can watch TV in order to show the word “living room”.
Step 4 Presentation
Show the new words one by one in different ways and ask ss to read and repeat. And also show the things that can be in these rooms and the activities can do in order to help ss remember the key words easily.
Show the sentence structure and ask ss try to answer with the sentence”I’m in the ...” After answering some times, let ss try to ask the questions with the sentence”Where are you?”
Step 5 Practice
Have ss listen to the whole passage and try to answer the questions after listening.
Show a picture of some rooms and let ss find out different rooms.
Let ss answer the question “Where is ...?” with the sentence”He’s/ She’s in the ...”, when they see the pictures.
Chant
Step 6 Presentation
Listen to the audio and have ss focus on the V.ing.
Have ss first say the sentence “I’m doing...” and then try to say “He’s/ She’s ...”
Step7 Practice
Work in pairs: have ss work in pairs to practice the sentences”Where’s...? He’s/ She’s in the ...” “What’s he/she doing? He’s/she’s ...(ing).”
Let ss make the two sentences into one sentence. “______is ____(ing) in the ______”
Game: different ss from different goups to say the sentences
Reading: Have ss practice reading and choose some of them read in different roles.

Show a picture of the Brown’s family and try to find out what the people are doing in different rooms.
Have ss work in groups to practice saying the sentences.
