Stage 1.Getting Ss ready for learning
T and Ss greet to each other.
Stage2. Pre-reading (Section C-1a)
Show Ss pictures of our class and lead out the words: study, outdoor, activity.
T: We study and do outdoor activities at school, do you think our school life is interesting?
Ss:…
T: Now look at the boy on PPt, his name is Hu Bin. Today let’s learn his school life.
Show some pictures of Hu Bin, read the sentences and circle True or False by guessing.
Stage 3 While- reading (Section C-1a/1b)
Ss go through the passage quickly and match the pictures with the paragraphs.
Ss read the passage and find out the sentences they don’t understand. T writes the sentences on the blackboard and teach.
Ss read the text again and then finish 1b. (Work in pairs and talk about the answers.)
Check the answers together.
Stage 4. Post- reading
Offer Ss some key words and let them retell the passage.
Write a letter to Hu Bin to tell him about your school life. Then ask one students in each group to read his or her letter.
Stage 5. Further- reading ( Section C-2)
Show pictures of stamps, the news and the posters, lead out the new words (stamp, sound, attention, night) and the phrases ( between… and…, from…to…)
Read the news and posters, show three tables on PPt and let Ss fill in the blanks.
Stage 6 Assigning homework
Summarize the content of this lesson.
New words each five times and recite.
Write a news or a poster.
