Teaching procedures:

I. Lead-in

1. Show students a picture of “Zootopia” and ask them the following questions: (1) What is it? (2) Do you know the meaning of this word? (3) Why does Judy go there? (4) Where does she work?

II. Revision

1. Review wh-questions:

(1) Show students a picture of a leopard and Judy by the information desk. Give students two minutes to do a pair-work- to make a dialogue between these two animals with wh-words listed beside.

(2) Ask two pairs of students to show their dialogue.

2. Review the topic of introduction:

(1) Ask students to fill in the information table of Judy on their worksheet with the help of the picture.

(2) Give students 3 minutes to prepare a self-introduction for Judy.

(3) Ask two students to act as Judy and introduce themselves.

3. Review the simple present tense:

(1) Show students some pictures about Judy’s daily life at the beginning.

(2) Ask students to fill in Judy’s timetable according to the pictures.

(3)Ask students to describe Judy’s daily life with the simple present tense.

(4) Ask students if Judy is happy or not and why.

4. Review key words and key phrases:

(1) Introduce the background of the case: Mr. Emmitt is lost.

(2) Ask students if they were Judy, what they would do.

(3) Introduce the plot: Judy has to ask the sloth for help, but the sloth asks her to make a funny story to make him laugh.

(4) Ask students to help Judy make a funny story with one group of the words:
