Step II Presentation

T: Today, I bring many pictures of food. Look, I like rice. I like noodles. But I like hamburgers best. My favorite food is hamburgers. Write the key sentence on the board. Now, I want to know: What's your favorite food ? Lead out the answers. My favorite food is ...

After the students understand the key sentences, the students read them after the teacher.

T: Now, who wants to tell us her or his favorite food.

Ask competent students to answer the questions.

Watch a video of the dialogue.

The students watch the video and think about the following question.

Q1: Who are talking?

Q2: What are they talking about?

Q3: What is Colin's favorite food?

Q4: What do people in the USA often eat?

Q5: Does Colin like Chinese food?

Read the dialogue after the video.

Step III Practice

The students practise the dialogue in pairs. After a while, ask some pairs to act it out.

Make up a song with the key sentences. Then teach the song to the students. The students sing the song with the music.

Step IV Consolidation

Little reporter

The teacher play a reporter and interview a student.

T: What's your favorite food ?

S: My favorite food is ...

Ask some students to be little reporters and interview the others.

Divide the students in groups and make up a new dialogue.

S1: Good morning. Where are you form?

S2: I am form China.

S1: What's your favorite food ?

S2: My favorite food is ... Where are you form?
