II. Teaching plan
Step 1 Review and lead-in
1. let students sing a song and act the song out .
2. Ask some students to say out the new words of this lesson
3.show a toy bear to review the prepositions of position
Then check the answers together.
Show the pictures in 2a and ask students to fill in the blanks with proper prepositions. Then check the answers.
Step 2 Presentation
play a guessing game
2. Show some pictures and learn the phrases and sentence patterns of There be.
3. Look at the following two pictures and read the conversations below them.
4. Let students listen to 1a part by part, follow it and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Present the key phrases in the dialogs and ask students to match them with correct meanings. Understand 1a.
2. Work in pairs. Give students three minutes to practice 1a in roles. Then ask several pairs to act it out.
3. Group competition. Two groups read 1a in roles and the group which read louder wins. G1—G4 G2—G5 G3—G6
Step 4 Practice
1. Look at a picture and discuss the following questions.
2. Have a competition. Listen and ask students to repeat the dialog sentence by sentence.
