Step1 Warming up &Revision

Step2 Leading in
Introduce a new friend Mr. Snail to the students.
Mr. Snail: Hello, everyone! I’m Mr. Snail. I have a nice and warm house. I like to stay in it very much. If you want me to come out, I will ask, what’s the weather like today? Only the right answer can make me out.
(设计意图:通过设计卡通人物蜗牛先生喜欢呆在壳里,只有给出合理天气它才愿意出来这样一个情境,巧妙引出本节课重点句型和表达天气的重点单词What’s the weather like today? It’s sunny/ windy/ cloudy/ snowy/ rainy.)
Step3 Presentation
1. Create situation.
Use the PPT to show the students the conversation between Mr. Snail and his friends. And then let the students to practice the dialogue:
A: Hi, Mr. Snail! Come out. Let’s play together.
B: What’s the weather like today?
A: It’s sunny/ windy/ cloudy/ snowy/ rainy.
B: Oh, I’m sorry. I want to sleep.
(Oh, it’s raining. I like raining. Let’s go out to play.)
(设计意图:通过蜗牛先生与小鸟,乌龟,蚂蚁,企鹅以及蚯蚓之间的对话,利用师生问答、小组问答、男女问答、角色扮演等形式呈现并操练句型- What’s the weather like today? – It’s sunny/ windy/ cloudy/ snowy/ rainy. 在创设的情境下反复操练句型,不仅避免了无意义的机械练习,还大大激发了学生们的学习兴趣。)
