Step One: Warm-up

Show a photo of the teacher, describe it and learn the new word “ center , flower , house”.

Step Two: Revision

Go over kinds of rooms and “there be” by talking about the teacher’s home .

1. Enjoy different kinds of rooms in a video ( bedroom, kitchen, washroom, study …)

Step Three: Read and understand ( Activity 1a on P31)

1. Appraise the picture on P31 and guess if the writer likes his home, then skim the passage and check.

2. Paragraph reading and tasks.

Task One: Read Para. 1 and answer the following questions.

(1) Where is the garden?

(2) Are there any trees in the garden?

(3) What’s in the garden?

Task Two : Read Para. 2 and fill in the blanks.

At the ______ of the yard, there is a nice house. In the house, there are ______ bedrooms and there is a ______ living room and a study, too. The writer loves playing on the computer in the ________. Near the house, there is (a)n _______ tree. Some birds are _________ in the tree.
