本课通过大量的游戏与竞赛活动,促进学生学会与同伴合作,参与课堂,大胆实践;并学会听取和接受他人的建议。通过参观老师的新家,激发学生对美好生活的向往, 理解家的含义,培养对家的热爱之情。

  二、教学重难点

  1. 教学重点:

  1) 通过游戏和竞赛的方式复习Section A-C的单词和句型,总结本话题所学语法和功能。

  2) 阅读本课Tom 的来信,理解信中所给的信息,了解写信格式。

  3) 结合中考对书面表达的要求,运用所学there be句型回信给Tom, 介绍自己理想的家。

  三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming- up

1. Greet the Ss.

  2. Sing a song On, in, under, by. Show a video to the Ss. Get the Ss to sing the song with the video and do the actions at the same time.

  Ⅱ. Revision

1. Go over the prepositions. Show the pictures of Tom & Jerry. Get the Ss to use more prepositions to describe the positional relationship between them.  

2. Task 1: ①Sum up all the prepositions in this topic.

②Finish 1 on Page 33 with the prepositions.

  3. Task 2: Offer the Ss some nouns: basketball, chair, floor, clock, and room. Get the Ss to make new prepositional phrases with the nouns and the prepositions. See which group can make the most phrases in thirty seconds.

  4. Task 3: Each group gets two students to the front. One gives the instructions like “Please put the pen in the box!”or “Don’t put the pen in the box!”, and the other student does as he says. See which group can say the most sentences in thirty seconds. Then tell the Ss that we can give some advice to them like “Put your things away, please. You must look after your things.”

  5. Show a picture of a house to the Ss. Tell the Ss something about the house. Make the Ss have the desire to go inside.

6. Task 4: Guessing game. Before going into the house, the Ss must get the key. So they have to guess the words about the room or in the house. Each group gets two students to the front. One student describes the word in English, and the other one guesses. The task is mainly to go over the words and get the Ss to practice using English to describe something.

Ⅲ. Practice

1. Visit the house.

⑴The living room.

The teacher and the students ask and answer questions like this:

① T: Where is the TV?

Ss: It’s on the wall.

(Lead in)T: So, there is a TV on the wall.

② T: Where is the picture?

Ss: It’s behind the sofas.
