Step I : Warming up and revision.

1. Revision:

a. Listen to a song. The numbers.

b. Play a game: 数字接龙

StepII : Presentation

Step 1. Learn the new words: eleven , twelve , thirteen , fourteen , fifteen ,sixteen,happy, old

T: (ppt) Look at the picture. Today is my birthday. S: Happy birthday!

T: Thank you.

Step2. Learn the main sentence: How old are you ? I’m… .

T: I’m thirty. (Write it on the bb.)

Step 3.Practice: Let the students practice it freely.

Step 4. Look at the cake !

a. Draw a cake on the blackboard.

b. Look at the ___ (change the words)

Look at the sky , Can you see the kites flying ?

T: Look at the blockboard , it’s a birthday cake , how many candles ?

Ss: 1--20

c. Play a game “simon says”:

Practice it in pairs.

Act it out.

StepIII: Practice

1. Ask and answer questions. T- S1, T- S2. Then the students practice in pairs.

2. (ppt). Ss look at the pictures of numbers and some things. Ask and answer questions in pairs. Then let some pairs show.

A: How old are you?

B: I’m ____________.

3. Let some pairs show their dialogues. When the last pair is talking, T points to the things they are talking about and asks a question to lead in the next concept:
