Stage2 Presentation
1. As the students are familiar with the school around, ask the students to describe the positions of the facilities around our school to learn the new prepositional phrases.
2.Say, There aren’t any bookstores or museums in West Market. What should we express the directions to Xinhua Bookstore or Hongtu Bookstore? What should we ask directions if we don’t know where it is? That can lead to the new lesson and check how well the students preview the lesson at the same time.
3. Show some pictures to learn the new words and phrases.
4. Show pictures of 1b and ask the students to express the directions.
Listen to 1a and do the listening practice of 1b, choose the right answer.
Stage3 Consolidation
1. Watch the video of 1a.
Show the picture of 1a and ask the students to draw the route of each conversation
Read after the tape, then read in roles, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation
Conclude the expressions of asking and giving directions and write them down on the blackboard.
Stage4 Practice
Look at the map of 1a. Suppose you are standing at A, how can you get to the school/ post office? Do a chain practice.
List some places and ask the students to make conversations in each group about asking and giving directions. Then act the dialogues.
Stage5 Exercise
List some exercise and ask the students to answer as quickly as possible.
Stage6 Assigning homework
Review the words and expressions learnt today.
