Step3: Read conversation1. Look at the map in 1a. Suppose you are standing at A and want to go to the post office. Make up a new conversation with your partner.

Step4: Read conversation2. Look at the map in 1a. Suppose you are standing at A and want to go to the restaurant. Make up a new conversation with your partner.

Step5: Read conversation3. Look at the map in 1a. Suppose you are standing at A and want to go to the school. Make up a new conversation with your partner.

Practice

Step1: Here is a map. Let’s listen to the conversation and find the way to Jane’s home.

Step2: Listen to the conversation again and retell the way to Jane’s home.

Step3: Look at this map. If I’m a foreigner and I’m standing at A, I want to go to someplace. Who can tell me the right?

Step4: Look at the map and practise the conversations with your partner.

Step5: Guessing game. One student describe his line and others can guess where he or she wants to go.

Step6: Look at another map. Work in pairs and make some short conversations with the expression of asking the way and giving directions.
