六、教学过程
1. Warm up
(1) Show pics of trees and ask some Ss to introduce their favourite trees in front of the class.
(2) Let other Ss to take notes and match the pictures of the trees and their owners.
2. Before reading
(1) Elicit teacher’s favourite tree— bamboo.
(2) Check answers of part one in the pre-task, and emphasis the importance of trees in order to elicit the topic “How do trees help us?”
3. While reading
(1) Let Ss read the text and fill in the blanks of the mind map on the worksheet.
(2) Check answers.
(3) Ask Ss to brainstorm other ways trees help us in our daily lives and write down some good ideas on the blanks of the mind map.
(4) Elicit the topic “Trees are important/helpful/our best friends” and call on students’ attention of saving the trees.
(5) Ask Ss to do an extensive reading.
(6) Check the answers and let Ss to brainstorm some useful ways to save the trees.
4. After reading
(1) Ask Ss to make a poster to call on people’s attention on saving the trees.
(2) Let Ss write down their own ideas on “How do trees help us?” and “How to save the trees?”
(3) Ask Ss to discuss in groups and choose some of the best ideas to be used in making the posters.
(4) Let some of the group present their poster in front of the class.
(5) Clarify how to evaluate Ss’ works according to the form on the worksheet.
