Teaching process:

Step1:Warm up .

Greetings.

Talk about everyday English and our feeling.

Sing the chant.

《I was fat》.

设计意图:利用有韵律感的Chant,既复习了与本课相关的旧知识,为学习新课做铺垫,又活跃了课堂气氛,调动了学生的学习积极性。

Step2: Presentation.

探究(一):How to ask the personal past features and answer them.

1.Ask students to discuss: What were you look like in the past?

2.Show students’ answers and do some speaking by pictures.

(1)Show the photo of Yao Ming, ask students to talk about him like this:

Was he short/tall? Yes, he was. / No, he wasn’t.

(2)Show the photo of woman, ask students to talk about her like this:

Was she fat/thin? Yes, she was. /No, she wasn’t.

(3)Show the photo of the ugly duck, talk about it.

Lead in new lesson in this way: Was it beautiful ? Can you guess which city it is?

Ask students to guess it , the teacher show the information about this picture.

Such as: It is a big city.It is called the window of the world. It is very famous city. It has the highest building in Asia. Do you know it?

设计意图:结合照片对比、句子讲解,为了让学生对描述“过去与现在”有一

个清晰的认识. 教学中学生个体活动、小组活动、全班活动交替进行,指导学生通

过细心观察、积极参与、合作交流等方法学会、掌握并运用知识。通过对一所城市的

猜测,和有趣的卡通对话,抛给学生城市背景资料,自然引出课题。

Step3: Learning the text.

According to the picture of the city, show the title on the blackboard. Ask students to watch the cartoon and answer the question.

Show :Was it a big city then ? How was it then? It was a small village then.

Learn the new word in the sentences. “village”, using the word in the different phrases.
