Step1. Warming up

1. Greetings.

T: Hello, boys and girls. Today I’ll divide you into two teams—Basketball Team and Football Team. At the end of the class, let’s see which team is the winner.

2. Say a chant.

设计意图: 通过师生问候,拉近师生间的距离,营造良好的英语学习氛围。同时根据小学生争强好胜的特点,引进竞争机制,培养学生的参与意识、合作精神与集体观念。通过说chant 并配上伴奏,激发学生学习兴趣,让学生动起来,并引出本课重点can.

Step2. Leading in

1. Show Ss some pictures: run fast, jump high, swim, play football, play basketball, play table tennis, sing, skip.

2. T: Can you...?

Ss: Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.

设计意图:通过结合图片复习学生已学过的动词词组及句型,让学生初步感知本课句型,为下文的学习做好铺垫。

Step3. Presentation and practice.

1.Show the picture of Part1.

T: Can the short boy play basketball?

Ss: Yes. / No.

T: Let’s watch the video.

Oh, he can play it well.

2. Listen and repeat Part1.

3. T: The short boy can play basketball well. How about Lingling? (出示Lingling头像)

(1). Can Lingling play basketball well?

(2). Does Lingling want to be in the football team? (呈现问题时教授team, 结合图片).

Watch the video.

4. Check the answers.

(1). Yes, she can. (呈现文中句子:You’re very good at basketball.教授good at)

(2). Yes, she does.

设计意图:通过让学生带着任务观看视频动画,使学生初步感知课文内容。培养学生形成良好的学习策略。

5. T: Let’s Learn the text paragraph by paragraph.
