Step1: Warm-up（3 minutes）

3. Watch a video about libraries in the world.

【设计意图】提出问题引发学生思考，让学生运用发散性思维考虑问题。通过观看有关图书馆的视频吸引学生的注意力，拓展学生的知识面，并为后续的学习做好铺垫。

Step2: Presentation（17 minutes）

1. Show the picture of Ms Smart.

T: Ms Smart loves reading very much. So her friend sent a box to her. (Teach the word “sent”)

2. Listen and answer “What are they doing?” Then check the answer in the text.

【设计意图】让学生带着问题整体感知课文，领略文本内容大意，为细读做准备。在文本中找出主题句，渗透在文本中收集信息的阅读技巧。

3. T: Does Lingling like to make a home library? (Teach the word “idea” and the sentence “That’s a good idea.”)

【设计意图】通过创设贴近学生生活的例子，让学生在有意义的环境中操练单词和句式，避免简单机械操练。

4. Free talk: How to make a home library. Then listen to the 2nd and 3rd part to find the answer.

【设计意图】听读结合，细读文本，引导学生抓住关键信息，揭示文本结构的内在联系，挖掘文本细节信息。

(1)T: First we need a shelf. (Teach the word “shelf” and “put”)

(2)T: Second we need a lot of books.

①Teach the sentence “These are all books about…”

②T: What other kinds of books do you know?

（Teach the word “dictionary” and watch a video about how to search information using a cell phone.）

③Show a picture of library classification.

【设计意图】让学生说一说他们知道的书本类型，激活原有知识图式。教授手机有道词典的使用方法，拓宽学生的学习方式。向学生展示图书馆基本分类，有助学生在日常生活中快速找到自己想看的书。

(3)T: Third we need a card.

①Use phonics to spell “card, hard, park, dark”

②Show some different cards in the daily life.
