Step 1: Warm up
1. Greetings.
2. Sing the song:If you are happy.
3.Review the past forms of the verbs.
4.Play a game :I say you do. Review the prepositions:in,on,under .
5.Talk about the pictures of part1, then practise the dialogues.
Step 2:Presentation
1.Tell students an interesting story caused by pronunciation mistakes,then ask students to talk about themselves.
2.Describe the pictures of part2, and let students guess: Why are they laughing? Why do they have cups on their heads? Then watch?the flash and?find?the sentences?with"why"?.
3.Listen to the recording ,underline the answers to the questions:
Did they plan to play a basketball game?
Why do they have cups on their heads?
Who brought the baseball caps?
When they answer the first question, learn the new words: planned and baseball, then learn more about the baseball.
When they answer the second question, show a cap and a cup to the students, tell them; a cap is not a cup, a cup is not a cap. Then practice reading the tongue twister as quickly as possible:
A cup in a cap and a cap on the cup.
4、Ask Ss to read after the recording together.Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
5、Read the text by themselves.
