Step 1 Warming-up

Sing a song-- “My best friends”

Free talks: Who is your best friend?/What’s his/her favourite food/ subject/...?

[Purpose]: 让学生在轻松愉悦的氛围中开始学习;自由对话谈论好朋友复习到学过的句型,同时引出课题Friends

Step 2 Lead-in

I show some photos of my best friends to learn the new phrases: family name, music group, like...best, basketball team: L. A. Lakers

(Text 1) Miss Li is my best friend. Li is her family name. She likes books. She likes music, too. She can play the guitar. Her favourite music group was FIR music group. (引出新词汇family name, music group)

(Text 2) This is my brother. He is my good friend, too. He likes sport. He likes basketball best. L.A. Lakers is his favourite basketball team. (引出新词汇like...best, basketball team: L. A. Lakers)

[Purpose]: 教师创设情境,展示朋友照片同时导入新的词汇,词不离句,让学生在具体语境中提前感知和理解新单词,又呈现了关键句型,为后续文本的学习做铺垫。

Step 3 Presentation

1. Teach students the listening and reading skills (Underline or circle the key information:name, age, birthday, likes, favourite...)

[Purpose]: 学习之前适时讲授听读技巧,教学生学会在关键信息处做记号,进而提高阅读效率。

2. Listen and learn the passage about Steve Chen, then answer the questions and fill in the blanks.(问答过程中教授词汇American football,对比单词America,填空练习复述小短文,考察巩固第三人称的表达方式)
