(一)、Organization
1.Greetings:The teacher say hello and chat with the students.
2.Warming up: Listen and say the chant in page 34.The teacher ask the students to imitate the actions of Toby.(To set up a active atmosphere.)
(二)、Pre-reading
1.Lead in and introduce the topic with guessing.
The teacher show a headwear of Pit and Pat ,and then let the students guess who are they?( Pit 和 Pat是本教材里的主要人物,他们的出现总会带来很多有趣的事情的。从三年级开始的学习中学生已经熟悉了这两个人物的种种事情,这一环节目的只是唤醒他们对人物以及他们的相关事情的记忆,为下一步的联想活动做铺垫。)
2. Prediction :
1)The teacher present a picture of the story and the title “The sofa”, then let them guess what happen with them. The teacher encourages the students to express their ideas with Chinese or English freely.(To arouse the students from the interests of reading)
2)Before we reading the teacher ask two questions about the story,they are:
How much is the sofa?
Do they like the sofa at last(最后)? Why?
(三)、While-reading
1.First-reading(Scanning)
(1)Let the students watch the video and enjoy the funny story.
(2)Check the answers of the two questions and encourage them to express their opinions of the second question: Do they like the sofa at last? Why?(让学生尽情发挥所学过的英语来进行表达,也可以用中文来补充。)
(3)Wacth the story again and help them understand the main idea of the story.(迅速的再观看故事,以检查学生对故事的理解情况,并确认学生自己的预测的正误。)
2.Second-reading(intensively)
The teacher tell the story with PPT pictures by pictures,and encourage them try to read the story.
