By the end of this period, students will be able to identify the meanings of some words and speak, listen and write the new words.

Teaching Procedures:
Step1.Warming up.
a.Show a picture of a TV and lead to the word“television ”and then learn to read and understand “television”.
b.Have a free talk on the topic of TV programmes.
Step2.Presentation.
a.Show the videos of cartoons, nature programmes,sports programmes, detective films; romantic films; science fiction films and ask some questions to teach the words: cartoons ;
Sports programmes; nature programmes; detective films; romantic films; science fiction films.
e.g. Do you like cartoons?
Do you like romantic films?
b.Listen and answer the questions.
Look at the videos and answer the questions and learn to read the words: cartoons ; sports programmes; nature programmes; detective films; romantic films; science fiction films.
Step3.Practise.
Look and say. Show the pictures of TV programmes to the pupils.
Show some TV pictures and the words and ask the student to match them.
Listen and tick: ask the students to read the words next to the pictures and listen and tick the words.
Check the answers. Then ask the pupils to look at the answers to talk about what TV programmes the children like or don’t like.
Step4.Consolidation.
Work in pairs: ask the pupils to talk about the TV programmes they like and they don’t like.
Write about our favourite TV programmes.
Step5.Homework.
Practice the new words by talking about with your parents.
