【Teaching Steps】

★Step 1:Sing a song—Happy birthday.

★Step 2:Play a game—Musical Chairs

Rules: When the music plays, you must walk around the chairs, when the music stops , you must sit on a chair .If you can’t sit on the chair ,you’re lost.

★Step 3:Present Target Guidance, Read them together.

★Step 4:Review

1)Task 1 (Free talk)-- Talk about what they did at Kangkang’s birthday party with the help of the pictures.

2)Task 2( Ask and answer)—Review the general questions beginning with “Did” of the Past Simple Tense.

★Step 5: Learn the new words

Learn the new words and phrases with the help of the pictures: ouch, matter , fall , poor ,myself ,wash , washroom, fall down, miss the chair, at once.

Then finish Task 3 one by one.

★Step 6:Learn 1a

1)Listen and check

Finish Task 4. Listen to 1a and check (√) what happened to Michael at the party, then check answers..

2)Listen and answer

Complete Task 5. Listen to 1a and answer the questions.

3)Write and read

Finish Task 6. Write the past forms of the verbs, then read aloud.

4) Read and find

Find out the phrases and sentences in 1a,then remember them.

5) Read and understand

Complete Task 8.Read 1a and understand the key sentences.

6) Read and act

Finish Task 9.Watch the flash, then read 1a.After that act it out.

7) Make a report

Finish Task 10. Retell 1a to the class, using the Simple Past Tense.
