Step 1 Warm--up

1、Listen to music and play a game .

2、Look at the pictures and lead to the new lesson .

T: Are they happy ?

Ss: (Yes, they are.)

T: What happened to Michael ?

Lead to the new lesson .

Step 2 Presentation

1、Listen to 1a and finish 1b. Listen again and check the answers .

2、And then explain the phrases :fall down 、hurt oneself、at once=right away .

3、Let students read the dialog with partners , then act it out .Finish 1a.

Step 3 Consolidation

1、Fill in the blanks and check the answers , finish 1c .And then sum up the changing rules of verbs in the past simple tense .

2、Look for friends .Give some papers of the verbs with its past form to some students , let them find out the correct verbs .

3、Check the answers .

Step 4 Practice

1、Show a picture and ask the question “What’s the matter with Judy ?”

2、Listen to 2a and complete the conversation .Check the answers .Finish 2a .

3、Let students read 2a and complete the passage with the correct form of each verbs . Finish 2b .

Step 5 Summary

1、new words: matter, fall, poor, myself, wash, forget

2、new phrases: fall down, hurt oneself, at once=right away, come back, next time.

3、new sentences:

I‘m glad you had a great time.

But don't be so late next time.
