Teaching procedures
Part 1
⑴The teacher asks some students to describe our new friends.
Eg. Jack is lovely. And he loves strawberries.
Mary is beautiful. And Mary loves apples.
⑵Let’s describe our friends in different ways.
Jack is tall. Mary is taller than Jack.
Mary is short. Jack is shorter than Mary.
⑶Then, the teacher explains the definition and usage of the comparative forms of the adjectives.
⑷Practice 1
There are two rules. The first one is long, and the second one is longer than the first one.
If we say the second one is short, then the first one is shorter than the second one.
Ann has many pencils.
Bill has more pencils.
⑸ Play a game of the comparative forms of the adjectives.
Part 2
Now, we will meet another friend. He is a famous basketball star. Guess, who is he?(Yao Ming)
⑴ Compare the three persons.
Jack is tall.
Mary is taller than Jack.
