T: Hello! My lovely kids, let’s do and then chant.
Ss chant.
T: Oh, you can chant, I can’t chant but I can play magic.
(老师表演魔术)I try,I can. Who want to try? Be brave, you try you can.
请生上台表演。及时表扬鼓励Be brave, you try you can.
【设计意图】节奏强的儿歌既调动了学生的学习英语的积极性,又消除学生紧张的心理,还复习了将在故事中出现的表示动作的单词;教师表演魔术既聚焦了学生,又让孩子在体验中领悟到 “Be brave, you try,you can.”的道理,为后续的故事学习做好铺垫。
Step 2 Show the assessment rules.
T:Today,You’re ducks, you try, you’ll go on(师演示).A big cat is coming to you. If you jump into the pond, swim, swim, you’re brave, you try, you’re safe ,you can. Can you try?
【设计意图】把故事寓意“Be brave, you try ,you can.”和目标语言“You’re safe now.”作为评价并贯穿整个教学活动。

T:Read the story by yourself, circle the hard words and sentences, learn with each other.(自读故事,圈出觉得难的单词和句子,组内交流互助。)
