Key points: Students can talk about travel using the sentences they learn in this class.

Difficult points: Usage of “be going to”.

Ⅵ. Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warming up

Demonstration: Show the topic of unit 6 and then lead in the title of lesson 1.

1. Greetings.

2. Show the unit topic: Travel.

Teacher writes “travel” on the blackboard and the students learn to read it. )

Show a picture of Mount Taishan.

Learn “Mount Taishan” with word card.

Guide the students try to say something about Mount Taishan. Then show the title of lesson one and get the students to read together.

Step 2 Presentation

Demonstration: In this part, students have two tasks to do. They will realize the usage of “be going to” by talking about Li Ming and his friends’ travel plan in the summer vacation.

1. Lead in: Show a picture of Li Ming and his friends and then ask: Where are they now?

2. Task 1: Watch and think: What are they talking about?

Get the students try to guess.

2) Watch the cartoon, then show two choices to the students and get them to choose the correct answer.

A. Study plan in the summer vacation.

√B. Travel plan in the summer vacation.

(Learn the new word “vacation” with the word card)

【Purpose】 Students can understand the text preliminarily.

Show a picture and ask: When is it now? What does Li Ming say?

Ask a student to answer and learn the new word “June” with word card.

Task 2: Watch and match: Where are they going this summer?

Get the students to watch the cartoon carefully and then try to match.

Check the answers.

3)Show the sentence “Where are you going this summer? ” Guide the students to answer: I’m going to …
