II. The teaching aims
According to the new standard curriculum and syllabus(新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings:
1.Knowledge aims
(1)To make sure that students can read and spell the new words in bold, such
as rainy, remember, outside, snowy, foggy, bright, temperature, low…...
(2) To help students learn about the ways to greet “How are things going?”
(3)To have students master how to ask and answer about the temperature.
(4)To learn about the word formation of Adjectives.
2. Skill aims
(1)To make sure that Ss can understand from listening to the conversation and
passage . This is to develop the Ss’ ability of listening.
(2)To ask students to make a conversation to talk about the weather. This is to
develop the Ss’ ability of speaking.
(3)To have students read the conversation in roles. This is to develop the Ss’
ability of reading.
(4) To ask students to make a weather report by writing. This is to develop the
Ss’ ability of writing.
(5)To make Ss get to know how to begin a conversation with the weather in
western countries. This is to develop the Ss’ ability of communication.
3. Emotional aims
(1)To make Ss get to know teamwork is important.
(2)Cultivate the Ss’ interest in English by enjoying the poems.
4. Cultural awareness
In western countries, people seldom talk about their private things, so “weather”
is one of their favorite topics.
