Part 1 Writing
Step 1 Reviewing
Have one student retell the passage of Good book, bad movie?.
Step 2 Reading
Read the passage on page 47 and then answer the questions.
1. What is the movie about?
(It’s about the story of a teenage girl called Mia Thermopolis who learnt she is the princess of Genovia shortly before her sixteenth birthday.)
2. Who is the main character?
(Mia Thermopolis.)
3. What is the most memorable scene in the movie?
(The most memorable scene is towards the end of the movie when, during Mia’s darkest moment of self-doubt, she is touched by a letter her father left her.)
4. What does the viewer think of the movie?
(It is an interesting movie which is about being and bettering yourself and about knowing who your real friends are.)
Ask several students to retell the passage and make sure they know the aspects of a complete movie view.
Step 3 Before writing
Choose a Chinese movie that you have seen recently and complete the table.
