Leading - in 1. Watch a movie about the space or the Moon.
2. Ask some questions about the moon: Is there any things on the Moon? Can we live on the Moon? Will we be able to build hotels on the Moon in the future? If this dream comes true, do you want to spend your holidays in hotels on the Moon?
1.To arouse students’ interest with the help of short movie. 2. To draw students’ attention to the topic and help the students get a general idea of what to learn in this period. Step 2
Reading 1. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
2. Read the text again and fill in some blanks of Paragraph 2 and 3. 1. To improve Ss’ listening skills.
2. To help the students grasp the main idea of the articles by listening to the text.
2. To train their ability for detailed information in the text. Step 3
Summary Ask the students to say something about the Dream Moon/ Space Hotel according to the pictures.
Finish the exercises, describe the rooms in their Moon Hotel and what’re the rooms for? To make sure the students know the main idea of the text and know the topic of what we learn in this unit. Step 4
Drawing and Speaking In groups, draw their Dream Moon Hotel.
Discuss: What’s the Dream Moon Hotel like?
Show their pictures and tell about their hotels in front of the class. To help improve students’ ability of speaking.
To encourage the students to work with others in group. Step 5
Writing The students write a short article about their Dream Moon Hotel, including three parts: the beginning; Dream Moon Hotel (Garden, Cinema, Supermarket, Restaurant…..) and the ending. To have the students use English under certain language environment. Step 6
Homework Finish Exercises 1.2 and 3 in the exercise paper. 1. To consolidate what they have learned.
