Step 1 Warm-up:
1、A song to provide an interesting and happy beginning and atmosphere Let the students be
interested in the lesson . Step 2 Revision and presentation:
1、Review sports words and sentence patterns they have learned
2、Present a sports day and drill the patterns. Brainstorm the sports words to lead in the text. Review the constant in last lesson and lead in the new lesson.
Remember new words, and new structures. Step 3 Reading:
1、Listen and answer the questions.
2、Read the text in groups and fill in the forms. Understand the passage. Train four skills.. Step 4 Game:
Play tug of war game. In order to check their understanding and using the present progressive, also have a time to amuse the students. Check their understanding and using the present progressive. 2.教学难点：How can we use the present progressive?
【学情分析】Have the students know the reading material about the sports day. The aim of the lesson is to understand the schedule and talk about the events on a school sports day. After learning they will fulfill their tasks according to their abilities.【教学策略】 Group work.

2、Draw pictures to talk about sports day events. Train ability of using languages. Step 6 Sum up
Let students sum up the lesson by themselves. Practice the summing-up ability. Step 7 Homework:
