Students will talk about whether young people should do chores under the stress of schoolwork.
Students will find the main idea of the passage through skimming.
Students will learn to make up new sentences in new situations based on the understanding of the phrases and sentences patterns.
Students will be able to retell the letters by using the phrases and sentences.
Teaching methods
The teacher leads the students to solve the difficulties they are facing. Try to let the students to be the owners in class. The teacher will use reading, discussing , debating, answering and writing to have this class.
Teaching process(The fourth period)
Step 1 warming up and lead in.
Greet students and ask the chores they know.
Ask students about the chores they know.
Ask students whether they like doing chores or not.
Discuss about whether students should do chores at home .
In this part, first ,the teacher and the students review the chores we have learned.
Next, discuss the topic in this class: whether the students should do chores at home.
Step 2 Skimming
Guide the students to get the general idea of the letters.
How to find their opinions? Read every word or just the first sentence?
Read the first sentence and you will find the main idea of the letter.
Skim the first sentence of each letter and find whether they agree or disagree.
