Warming-up Daily talk: An interview of a top student in our class. To arouse students’ interest and think about the characters of top students Pre-writing 1. Read a passage on How to be a top student To let the students get general ideas of what a good writing is 2. Evaluate the passage.
While-writing
1. Find out whether the details match the key words or not. To let the students learn how to improve the writing according to the relevance 2. Find out unnecessary sentences to improve the body of other passages. 3.Combine or enrich the sentences by using compound sentences To let students learn how to use clauses 4. Write as many connectives as possible
To let students learn how to use suitable connectives to make the passage logical and coherent 5. Fill in the blanks with the connectives Post-writing
Work individually and then improve the passage in groups. To let the students consolidate the tips learned in class and rewrite a passage 2. Present the improved passage. 3. Evaluate the improved passage. Assignment 1. Review what you have learned today.
2. Rewrite your own passage according to what you’ve learned today.
