The first stop-Beijing
T: OK. Let’s go. Do you know the first attraction?
T: Yes. It’s Tian’anmen Square. It’s the biggest city square in the world. Then the second attraction is the Great Wall. The girl is climbing it too. Suddenly she stops to receive a call. Do you know who’s calling her?I guess it’s her best friend. The third attraction is the Summer Palace. Spending the summer in it is wonderful, isn't it? Next attraction is Beijing Zoo. What’s it? It’s a giant panda. The final attraction is the Temple of Heaven. We can see lots of tourists here. Among them is Angelababy. She will have a baby. She hopes it will be a girl.
T: Please read the sentences again and think about what it refers to. In the sentences, it is a pronoun. Can you sum up the uses of it as a pronoun?
T: Good job! Do you want to know more about the Summer Palace? Now open your books at P12. Read the passage and find out what each it refers to.

Leaving for Shanghai
T: Next we’ll leave for Shanghai. How can we go to Shanghai? We can go there by train. Take out your mobile phone and order a ticket online. First , what’s the date today? It’s Thursday, 15th December 2016. Then find the nearest train departure. It’s 7:34p.m. Good. Do you know how far it is from Beijing to Shanghai? It’s 1,461km from Beijing. And the weather report says it’s sunny but windy and cold. So we’d better put on more clothes to keep warm.
T: Please read the sentences again and think about what it refers to. In the sentences, it is an impersonal pronoun. Can you sum up the uses of it as an impersonal pronoun?
T: The exchange students left for Shanghai too. Kevin has made some notes in his diary. Please rewrite his sentences with it.

Studying in it is great, I think. Can you use this structure to describe it? We’ll live in this hotel. It’s very beautiful. To live in such a hotel for us is comfortable. Can you describe it in another structure?
