II．Teaching procedure
I.warming up
1. Students watch a short video of last week’s basketball match and answer some questions that lead them in to the topic of sports: What’s the video about? Which two classes is it between? What’s the result? Do you like sports?
2. Make dialogues between each other with the following questions: What’s your favourite sport? When did you take it up? How often do you play it? Why do you like it?
II.Tuning in
A question for the students: What did we do before the basketball match last week?
Look at some photos of the warm-up exercises before the basketball match.
III. Teach of new words
teach the phrases of warm-up exercises with photos taken by their classmates
Read them together
leg lifts
knee bends
waist bends
jumping jacks
sit-ups
push-ups
Answer the questions related to the warm-up exercises:
1). When do we usually do them?
2). How often do you do these sport and exercise actions?
3). Which of these actions is the most difficult to do?
4). Which of these actions is the easiest to do?
4. Pair work: Talk about some warm-up exercises after the model
A: What warm-up exercise is she doing ?
B: She’s doing waist bends.
A: Do you ever do them?
