Revision of comparatives 1.Introduce a new friend to the student

Ask: What do you think of her? Look at the photos. Then express their ideas freely by using different adjs.. To engage the students and lead in the topic

? 2.Show two places . Compare the two places by using the comparatives. To elicit the original forms and comparative forms they’ve learned before.

II.

While-task activities 1.Show three means of transportation and choose the best way to go to Shanghai Zoo. Conclude the rules of changing adjectives into their superlative forms by themselves. To ask the Ss to find the rules by themselves and make up sentences on their own. 2.Show pictures of Shanghai Zoo and the animals. Conclude the three sentence patterns of superlatives. To have Ss classify the sentence patterns.

III. Post-task activities Tell the students to use the patterns in real life.

? Work in a group of four. Discuss how to describe their classmates by using the sentence patterns properly. To help Ss put what they have learned into use in their real life.

IV. Assignment 1. Oral work: Read after the recording of the text(P57).

2. Written work: Write a passage about the introduction of Shanghai Zoo by using the sentence patterns.

3. Optional work: Do a survey of your classmates’ favorite animals. Then write a report.
