4. To review the infinitive with wh- words.

Ability objectives:

1. To learn to use the infinitive properly.

2. To help students improve the ability of getting and processing the information.

3. To review more verbs by learning the infinitive

Emotional objectives:

1. To help students make wish for the future.

2. To help students learn to cooperate with others.

3. To help the students develop the competitive spirit.

Teaching procedure:

= 1 \* ROMAN I .Warming-up:

Listen to an English song “Hero” while the students are reading the sheets with the words of the song.

Q: Are these words verbs or nouns?

Do more practice.

Put some phrases into English according to the Chinese given:

= 2 \* ROMAN II . Review the infinitive.

The infinitive used as predicative.

Step 1: T: Just now we enjoyed a very nice song. Do you like it? Do you know the name of the song?

Step 2: Could you tell us the hero you know in our life? (Maybe the answer is LiuXiang, Yao Ming, Yangliwei, etc)

Show a picture of an astronaut. Describe his job.

Step 3: Show a picture of a tall building. Introduce Mr. Hero’s neighbors: scientist, singer, painter, teacher, nurse, astronaut, driver, actor, headmaster, policeman, fireman.

Have the students guess their jobs while the teacher tells them what they do.

Step 4: Give an example and explain the function of the infinitive.

Step 5: Practice the sentence “A (An) ______’s job is ___________.” according to the given phrases
