Teaching Procedures:
I.Lead-in
Show some logos and let the students guess what they are.
II.Pre-reading
Make a brief introduction of the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts.
III.While-reading
Ask the students to find out the key facts by reading through the whole passage.
Show three videos and see who can list the names of the scouting activities quickly and correctly.
Set the situations and make the students know the details of the activities the scouts take part in.
Make the students have the further understanding of the words”survival””potetial””values”and so on.
Have a discussion about how the scouts can work to become Eagle Scouts and Senior Girl Scouts and why so many scouts become the important leaders in America.
IV.Post-reading
Raise the questions: Would you like to sign up for the Boy Scouts or the Girl Scouts? Why or why not?
V.Assignment: an application letter.
