Step 1 Greeting and Revision
1.Greeting
T: (Point at the clock on the blackboard) Look, boys and girls! What time is it, now? (Ss answer) Yeah, it’s 8:40! It’s time for class! Class begins! (Greeting)
2.Magic eyes
This game is to show the words, phrases, sentences and some times they have learned at story time. (E.g. breakfast, dinner, seven o’clock, 6:00, What time is it? It’s time for ...)
Ss say them as soon as possible to have a quick review about story time.
3.Liu Tao’s timetable
(板书) What time is it? It’s time …
With the words, times, sentences, let Ss to make up Liu Tao’s timetable. That is to match the right times with the right activities.
And here is a tip for Ss: a.m. means 上午的时间,p.m. means 下午的时间。
Step 2 Fun time
1.A riddle: I have a round face and two hands. One hand is short, and the other is long. I can tell you the time. What am I?
Show the right answer: clock
2.Make and say
1)T: You are all very clever! Now, let’s take out the faces and hands you have prepared, and make a clock for your own.
2)T: (T points at the clock on the blackboard) Now, I will set some times. What time is it, please? (板书) (Tip: we use “please” to be polite)
3)pair-work
T: It’s time for pair-work. Work with your partners, one set the time, and the other say the time. Let’s go!
3. Enjoy a story
1) Enjoy a story called: What time is it, Mr.Wolf (review the sentence: What time is it? It’s…teach the sentence:It’s time to eat.)
2) T: Mr. Wolf is here now! Let’s play a game!(T as a model first with the mask of Mr.Wolf )
(Game: One student acts Mr. Wolf, and goes around the classroom with his clock. All the students ask: What time is it, Mr. Wolf? The student sets the clock and say the time. When the time is “twelve”, everyone should stand up, or you will be eaten by Mr. Wolf.)
