Talk about Chinese and English picture books you have read before.

The picture books can bring us: fun, knowledge, thinking

Talk about the animals

Step 2: While-reading

To know some new animal friends: giraffe, penguin, frog, tortoise and talk about them using “It is … It has…”

Little Zoe “Can you describe her? She is … She has …”

Show the title: Little Zoe Looking for Mum

Guess: How is the story? What do you think of the story? (学生先预测故事)

Task 1: Read and answer

Does Zoe find her mum?

Who does Zoe meet?

a penguin, a zebra, a tortoise, a dog, a cat

Listen to the tape try to guess the meaning of “lonely”

Task 2: Talk and think

--Are you my mum?

--Sorry, I’m not your mum. You have …, but I don’t.

小组讨论,抓住动物特征,分别谈一谈,再根据故事内容去读一读

Read and find

--Is the bear Zoe’s mum?
