I. Teaching material:

(五四制,鲁科版)English Book Ⅳ. Unit 6 Travel Lesson 1 I’m going to Mount Taishan.

Ⅱ. Analysis of the lesson:

This lesson is the first lesson of Unit 6. It is a dialogue lesson. It’s mainly about travel. It’s the topic that students are interested in. It describes Li Ming and his friends’ travel plan in the summer vacation. The students will learn how to talk about travel plan in this lesson. It’s not very difficult for the students. The main purpose of lesson 1 is to help students use the future tense to describe what is going to happen and develop their comprehensive language competence.

Ⅲ. Analysis of the learners:

Students of Grade Four are still interested in learning English. They are active in class and eager to express their opinions. It’s not difficult for them to do the activities about travel plan in this class. But it is really a challenge for them to talk about travel plan with others and give a report about travel plan.

Ⅳ. Teaching goals:

Knowledge goal:Students can read the following words and phrases: June, vacation, travel, Mount Taishan, back, July, temple, kung fu. Students can write the words: travel, back correctly.

Students can read the following sentences: Where are you going this summer? I’m going to …

Ability goal:Students can use the sentences to talk about the travel plan fluently, be able to talk about other people’s travel plans.

3. Emotion goal:Call out the students to enjoy traveling and enjoy the beauty of our country.

Ⅴ. Key points and difficult points:

Key points: Students can talk about travel using the sentences they learn in this class.

Difficult points: Usage of “be going to”.

Ⅵ. Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warming up

Demonstration: Show the topic of unit 6 and then lead in the title of lesson 1.

1. Greetings.

2. Show the unit topic: Travel.

Teacher writes “travel” on the blackboard and the students learn to read it. )

Show a picture of Mount Taishan.

Learn “Mount Taishan” with word card.

Guide the students try to say something about Mount Taishan. Then show the title of lesson one and get the students to read together.

Step 2 Presentation

Demonstration: In this part, students have two tasks to do. They will realize the usage of “be going to” by talking about Li Ming and his friends’ travel plan in the summer vacation.
