Knowledge goal

The students are expected to listen, speak and read the words and phrases: group, circle, different, tell stories.

The students can listen, speak, read and write the words: tell, story, sit.

3) The students will be able to use the sentence pattern “There is/are...Some are...We often... Sometimes we...” to describe their class and the activities in their class.

2. Ability goal

Most of the students can master the reading method: catch the key information, and they will be able to retell the text.

3. Emotion goal

1) By studying in this class, the students can know the difference between Canada’s class and China’s.

2) Develop students’ the awareness of protecting schoolyard and make students to study hard.

Ⅳ. The teaching important and difficult points

The teaching important point is to use the sentence pattern we have learnt in this class to describe their class and the activities in their class.

The teaching difficult point is to use the sentence pattern “There is/are...” in the real life correctly.

V. Teaching procedures

Step1 warm-up

师生问候

T: From what we have learnt, we know that Lucy is in a new school now, yes?

Ss: Yes.

T: And what’s Lucy’s new school like? You can use the sentence: There is…/There are…

用第二课学过的内容简单描述一下Lucy的新学校。

T: Can you use the sentence: There is/are…to describe our school?

让学生用学过的句型描述一下自己的学校。

【设计意图】课前和学生互动问好以及复习前两课所学句型,为本课的学习扫除了一些障碍,同时也拉近了师生之间的距离。

Step 2 Presentation

1、T: In the Lesson 2, we known LiMing asked some photos from Lucy. Yes? In this class, we will look at the photos Lucy sends to LiMing.

First, let’s look at the “Dear LiMing” and the end “Lucy”,we know it’s a …(引导学生说letter)from Lucy to LiMing. In this class, the title is“There are twenty pupils in my class”
