Background study and material analysis:
The students have already learned the story “A birthday cake”. They can name the food which is mentioned in the story, such as cake, flour, chocolate, egg, milk. They also know the name of the fruit such as apple, pear, etc. The concept of “snack bar” is totally new for the students. In this lesson, students will learn “hamburger, pizza, pie”, and the pattern “May I have a …, please?”. Since they’ve known the concept of “fruit shop”, they will use the target language in certain situation.
