Ⅰ Warming up (5mins)
a. Greetings.
Say “Good morning” and “How are you doing?” to students.
b. Lead-in.
1. Lead students to sing Sports Song together and ask “Do you like sports?” “Where can you do sports?” Then show two pictures—park and zoo for students to choose.
2. We are at the park now, ask students “What are you doing at the park?”, and they brainstorm to answer.
Ⅱ Presentation (15mins)
Show pictures of different activities that students can do at the park and use TPR to practice.
1. See the pictures of seesaw, swing and storybook.
2. Read and spell the words: see-saw, s-wing, story-book.
3. Play a game: act and say sentence like “I’m playing on the seesaw.”
b. Introduce the girl Cathy in this lesson.
- Today, my friend Cathy goes to the park. Do you know what’s she doing now? Now let’s listen and try to answer questions.
c. Ask the following questions before students listen to the CD:
1st time: How many people are there in the CD? Who are they?
2nd time: Does Cathy want to play with John? What’s Cathy/John/Peter doing?
d. Explain difficulties and guide students to say what Cathy/John/Peter is doing.
Ⅲ Practice (10mins)
a. Listen to the CD and let students listen, point and imitate.
b. Play games like “Train, train, train” and Opposite Tune to practice pronunciation in groups and pairs.
