The analysis of learning condition

The students are from Grade 4 in primary school. As primary school students, they have achieved certain English level and they have the ability to get the basic idea . Since they are in Grade4, they are easily activated and want to air their own opinions on the topic. They are familiar with the topic of animals and know some basic words about animals. But they may not know some unfamiliar words before. Moreover, their vocabulary is limited so they may have difficulties in understanding new patterns.

Learning objectives

Ss can listen, say ,read and write the new words: farm, pig, horse, cow, hen, sheep, duck.

Ss can ues the new patterns( --what’s it? --It’s a ____) to communicate each other.

Ss can master the key words and phrases of the passage as follows, farm, pig, horse, cow, hen, sheep, duck.

Ss will realize that animals are our friends and they will concern animals issues and love the nature.

Ss will broaden their minds by knowing something about animals and nature

It is important for the Ss to master the new words and phrases and use them flexibly.
