I’ll finish this unit in one period. This unit talks about the time and the daily activities. It mainly focuses on the time difference between China and the main important countries in the world. The Ss can work out the other countries’ time according to the time difference. We should excavate the cultural connotation, the differences between Chinese and Western culture. It focuses on the cultural infiltration, let the students better understanding the cultural differences between countries in the world, and let them know the world better.

Teaching aims

Ⅰ. Obtain the cultural information

1. Students are able to comprehend the usage of a.m. and p.m.

2. Students can realize the time difference exists in different countries.

Ⅱ. Cross-cultural teaching

1. Students are able to comprehend the time difference between China and the main important countries in the world.

2. Students are able to master the way of counting the time according to the time difference and work out the time.

1. Students are able to learn in four and cooperate with each other.

1.Situation teaching: Set a situation of Gogo and Xiao jun are going to travel around the world and meet some friends.

2. Task-based method: Asking some questions to let Ss watch the video, and then answer the questions. Demand Ss to talk in four using the sentence pattern and communicate with others at the end of the class.

3. Communicative method: Use CAI to show Ss video, pictures and some objects to help the Ss talk and communicate.

4. Teaching aids: Word cards, computer, PPT, a toy doll, pictures of UFO, 6 toy phones.
