IV.Teaching process

A.Pre-reading

a. Show the teaching aims

Good morning, boys and girls. Today let’s go on to learn Unit7 What’s the matter? These are learning aims for you. If you can talk about feelings, you can get some stars. If you can use the sentence“What’s the matter?”to ask and answer, you can get some stars. If you know the sound of the letter”o”, you can get some stars. How many stars would you like?

b. Play a game—Magic eyes

Yeah, I like you so much. First, let’s play a game, Magic eyes, if you see the words or pictures, say it quickly. If you see Mike, say Hello! OK?

Wow, I think you know the words of feelings. Can you?

Good job. Three stars for you.

c. Revision

1. Show the pictures and judge

Boys and girls, from the story time. We know something about Liu Tao. Now , let’s review. I’ll show you some sentences, if it is right, say Yeah…If it is wrong, say no…

2.Ask and answer

Well done. So according to the story time, please answer my questions. What’s the matter with Liu Tao? Is he hungry? Is he thirsty? What would he like? A pie or some water? Is he tired? What does he want to do?

e. Learning Rhyme time

1. Show a picture

Do you like games? Are you happy?But look at Bill. He is not happy. Let’s try to guess. You can ask, Jill, Jill, are you …?

2.Watch and answer

Let’s watch the cartoon and answer the question What’s Mum’s suggestion for Bill?
