Teaching procedure

Step 1 Leading in

The teacher talk about playing table tennis and start to like playing table tennis recently. Then, ask students if they like playing table tennis.

Next, the teacher ask students what do they like doing and their family’s hobbies.

Let students guess what does the teacher like doing, then let students read those words three times together.

Step 2 Presentation

Let students read the book and underline the hobbies of five students on the book. Then fill in the form on the page 28. (2 min)

Read the context together sentence by sentence. Then, the teacher emphasize the new words and phrases.

Let students read the context again and ask them which sentence is true and which is false. (1 min)

Step 3 Practice

Group works. Four students are practicing in a group to talk about hobbies. Do a survey and write down on the page 45. At last, the teacher ask two students on behalf of their groups to perform. (3 min)

Act and guess. Ask four students to come to the front and they are divided into two groups. The teacher present them some cards. One student is acting and the other one guess what does he like doing. Finally, the teacher count the number of right cards and choose the winner and reward them. (10 min)

Step 4 Summary

The teacher conclude what they have learned in this lesson. For example, we have learned what do you like doing? What does he/she like doing? Be good at, twins, reading stories, playing the piano and so on.
