Step1. Warming-up(5分钟)

Sing a song: Weekends

【设计意图:用歌曲导入,激发学生兴趣,为周末活动话题讨论做准备】

Brain storm (30’): What can we do at weekends?

【设计意图:30秒头脑风暴,打开思维,让学生在短时间内迅速说出周末活动,复习活动类的词,为课堂做准备】

Free talk:

T:We can do so many things at weekends. What about you? What do you do at weekends?

Teacher’s example(拓展:never)

T:I always play with my children at weekends. I usually visit my parents at weekends. I sometimes do to the cinema. But I never go skating, because I can’t skate.

Guess, what does “never” mean?

S; 从不。

T:Great! (板书never) What about you? What do you do at weekends? What do you never do at weekends?

S: I always/ usually/ often/ sometimes/ never …(请几位学生说一说,教师再用三单形式追问大家,让学生用三单形式回答)

T: What does he/she do at weekends? What does he/she never do at weekends?

S: He/She … ,but he/she never…

【设计意图:拓展never频率词,让学生马上用起来,学以致用。并通过周末活动的对话引入运动,为文化板块铺垫。】

过渡:We do many things at weekends, What about them? What do they do at weekends?

Step2. Culture time(10分钟)

New teaching:

T: Guess, what do people in the US do at weekends? (看美国人和国旗猜)

S:Do they…?/ I guess…/ I think…

T: Good try. Look, what do they do at weekends? (看书本图片)

S:They play basketball at weekends.
