Step I. Show time

T: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Look, this is your homework of last class. Who wants to show here?

(Ss show)

T: This class, we will go on learning Unit 6 In the kitchen.

Look at this picture. What are Su Hai and Nancy doing?

T: Yes. They are reading a book. This book is about the queen.

Step II. Presentation and practice

Sound time

1). T: What’s the queen doing? Please watch and answer.

2). Read: queen, quick

3). Read the chant together/in groups

4). Learn: quite, quiet; Read: quiz, quit, question, quarter

5). Read a new chant

2. Culture time

1). T: The queen is coming to have a big lunch. When you have meals, what do you eat with? (Learn: chopsticks)

2). T: Yes. People in China always eat with chopsticks. So does Yang Ling. (Listen and repeat)

3) T: Does the queen eat with chopsticks? (Ss: No.) What does she eat with? (Learn: a knife and fork)

4). T: Yes. People in Western countries always eat with knives and forks. So does Mike. (Listen and repeat)

5). T: How do western people use a knife and fork? Look at the picture. (Ss)

T: Hold the knife in your right hand, and hold the fork in your left hand. To make you know more about table manners, please watch a video.

6). T: Try your best to follow the table manners.

3. Cartoon time

1). T: The queen has finished her lunch now. She’s quite happy now, and she wants to go to Bobby’s garden. But Bobby is quite worried. Why is Bobby worried now? Do you remember Cartoon time of U5?

2) T: You are right. But this story is not over. Guess what will happen next? (Ss guess)

3). T: Let’s go into the second part of the story. First, watch the cartoon and answer the questions. Who comes to help Bobby? What does he bring to help Bobby? (Learn: angry)

4). T: Bobby is angry now, but at last he is (picture) happy. Why is Bobby happy at last? Please read and find. (Learn: drive…away, spots)
