Step1 Review (5 minutes)

T: What day is it today? What day was it yesterday?
Did you watch cartoons yesterday? My favourite cartoon is Doraemon. Doraemon has a ability. He can go anywhere through the door. Today he’ll take us to enjoy a time travel. What’s behind the door? It’s a secret.
Purpose: review the key sentences and the past tense.
Play a game
T:It’s a very popular game “Plants V&S Zombies”.
Rule: When you see the verb, say its past tense; when you see the zombie, clap your hands twice.
Purpose: review the past tense of key verbs that will be used in the next activity and draw students’ attention.
Step2 presentation(23 minutes)
1.Look and say(5mimutes)
T: Look at these pictures. They are old things. I think, Doraemon takes us to the past. What could people do in the past?
Put them into different categories.
T: These are new things. Look at the pictures. What are these?
Put them into different categories.
Purpose: present pictures to evoke students’ vocabulary of this unit. Then come out phrases according to the vocabulary. These phrases will be presented again as hits for students when they writing a article. Besides, this activity will let students learn to classify information and know to write the article from four aspects.
2. TWK(3minutues)
T:Doraemon looks sad. He wants to write down the things he saw before.But he doesn’t know how to describe the past and the present. Let me help him. Let’s watch the video.
T: I think after watching, you and Doraemon have a clearer idea of the two tenses. We can use the two tenses to describe the past and the present.
Purpose: Help the students get a clear idea of the difference between the past tense and the present tense to prepare for the next writing part.
3. Listen and answer(5minutes)
T: Doraemon still looks puzzled. It’s OK. My assistant Xiaoxiao will help him. First, let’s listen. Find a best title.
